Project #1 Egg Drop -
The crystal egg company has released its newest, most delicate, and most beautiful egg collection designed by the great glass blowers of Venice, Italy. They want to promote their new creation by dropping many crystal eggs in a beautiful but durable package from a helicopter hovering 50 feet over the heads of spectators and potential buyers. The egg package must not only allow buyers to visibly see the egg but also have a well designed interior that will protect the egg if it should ever be dropped. They are opening the package design to anyone and the best design will receive 100,000$. Although you are strapped for cash you scan the room for possible items you might use to design your package. You see straws, Popsicle sticks, Styrofoam, Bristol board, card board, rubber bands, corrugated plastic sheets, a small plastic shopping bags, glue sticks, and markers. you quickly grab some paper and begin whipping up some design using techniques taught in class. what will you create, will it be a success or a flob? you waste no time and get cracking right away.
Identification of the problem -
needs to get the egg on the ground with out the egg breaking open.
The Design Brief -
To solve the problem, we will need to make better packaging. The materials and tools that may be required in order to solve the problem are: Popsicle sticks, glue sticks, rubber bands, makers, and a shopping bag.

1. Is the design practical? 2. Will the design cost a lot of money? 3. Is the design reliable? 4. Is the design durable? 5. Is the design visually appealing? 6. Is the design safe? 7. Are the resources available? 8. Are the tools available? 9. Can the design be created on time? 10. Does the solution meet the needs? |

Redesigning & Improving -
1. Things we could've done to improve the project -
put a parachute on it. and put cotton balls above and below the egg so it didn't crack.
2. Things we would change -
nothing really but put a parachute on it .
3. Serious changes and why -
the changes we made to the box is we never used the lactic bands . we just kept it there with card board keeping it steal . and the lactic bands holding it down .
Summary -
1. What we liked -
The blue and orange paint. and decnals. and how we had the two cups placed in the box
2. Group effort -
Group effort was good. Everyone had a part and did their part.
3. How the project can be improved -
put a parachute on it and make the egg more secured.
